Wall texturing is another service I provide my clients. Whether you're needing to choose a texture finish for a newly drywalled space, or if you had some repairs done and need those areas textured to match your existing finish, I can provide you with exactly what you're looking for or help you choose the right one for you and your space. From popcorn to slap brush, orange peel to knockdown and more, I can give your walls and ceilings the look you desire.
Texture is important for many things but primarily it's used to add depth, balance, and style to any room. Wall textures are commonly used to finish interior wall surfaces and hide taped drywall seams along with other imperfections, it's basically camouflage. But at the same time these textures transform flat walls into a finish that reflects light and adds interest and can save you time on repairs down the road. It also gives you more control over the look and feel of the rooms in your home.

Popcorn

A texture that looks exactly as it's called. Popcorn texture (also called Acoustic) is very cost effective, is great for hiding blemishes in your walls or any imperfections that are costly to repair or hide. And also adds depth as well noise reduction. Although popularity of it was highest in the 70s when it was first introduced, it's still a cost-effective finish with added benefits.

Orange Peel

Another texture finish thats name stays true to it's physical appearance. Orange peel looks exactly as it sounds, it's sprayed on walls and ceilings to create a surface that is dimpled like the skin of an orange and smooth to the touch. Its a great alternative to a smooth finish because it is subtle but easily hides wall and ceiling imperfections. It's also durable and easily to clean making it a popular and common finish in residential homes, commercial buildings, and new construction.
Durable: An orange peel finish will make your walls more durable.
Hides Defects: Orange peel protect walls from dings and cracks because it adds an extra layer of compound. It’s also a popular texture because it also hides nicks and imperfections. That translates into having a finished surface not requiring touch-ups of your walls.
Easy to Clean: Its simple maintenance makes it a popular choice for hotels and rental units.
Simple to Apply: All it takes is a single spray application, rather than multiple layers of skim coat.

Knockdown

This finish is a hit with homeowners for its impressive appearance and practicality. The rustic flattened textures are reminiscent of stuccos and skip trowels. It exudes a casual elegance and lends itself to a wide range of décor including Southwest and Mediterranean. The finish is achieved by spraying, troweling, or rolling drywall joint compound onto walls or ceilings to achieve stalactite-like peaks, then flattening the peaks with a knockdown knife. The resulting mottled, naturalistic texture adds dimensional visual impact while also handily hiding any surface imperfections. As a bonus, the treatment helps to mute sounds too.

Skip Trowel

Like other finish textures, skip trowel textures offer a number of advantages. It serves as an effective method of covering up an old or damaged wall. This finish can also mask imperfections in drywall or plaster installation. It adds texture and depth to liven up boring, smooth surfaces, yet remains subtle enough to blend in with the decor. Its also extremely versatile, allowing me to adjust texture and thickness to suit your specific preferences. It serves as a great compromise between the smoothness of standard drywall and the bumpy texture of a popcorn or orange peel finish.

Slap Brush

Slap brush texture, also known as crows foot, stomp brush, or stipple, is a natural look that fits well in a home that seeks to achieve a rustic theme.
This finish resembles a rigid sunburst and also takes few materials to complete, making it one of the more inexpensive finishes to choose from but one that offers a unique and stylish result. The slap brush technique looks like spread-out lines due to the bristles of the fanned-out brush that is typically used. The resulting texture has a fan-like or sunburst effect created by the fanned-out bristles from the texture brush. This offers a refreshing change from the standard spray-on textures, like the orange peel or knockdown. The appearance of a slap brush wall will always vary because it depends on the application process, the brush used, how thick you'd like the depth (mud), and how it's layered. Thus creating a truly unique look that adds depth, dimension, and texture to your space.

Comb

This finish is a great way to dress up ceilings or accent walls to give your space a more elegant look. The process consists of laying down a layer of mud and using a toothed trowel to create tidy ridges in the mud before it dries. Most commonly, its applied in a “half-fan” motif that gives an almost art deco-like style to the surface. You can really personalize your comb texture with the directions you choose to create the pattern. For example, you can create swirls, wavy lines, or zigzags, making it the finished look truly unique.

Sand Swirl

The pattern of overlapping circles terminates at the wall on the other side of the room. Sometimes silica sand is added to the texture mud before it is applied. The basic pattern of this texture is similar but with the added sand, it creates a rough texture in the swirled drywall mud that gives a more dramatic feel to the finished pattern.
